What we would use for a human is not the same as what we use with the animals. RECIPES FOR PETSA GREAT NATURAL SUNSCREEN RECIPE USING ESSENTIAL OILS FOR PETSIf you are concerned about using zinc oxide sunscreens this is a great alternative. There has been a lot of concern over sun screen products with any zinc oxide or other sun blocks. This is great for your pets to protect their nose and other sensitive spots. Our pets need sun protection. It is safe if they lick themselves for the oils in this blend can be used internally. The oils must be therapeutic grade essential oils for internal use with your pets for pets like to lick the sunscreen off.
This is mixed in a 10 oz. glass spray bottle and cap off with Fractionated Coconut Oil so it can be sprayed easily. DIY Flea & Tick Repellent Pet Spray
Ingredients
2 oz glass spray bottle 15 drops Lavender Essential Oil 15 drops Cedarwood Essential Oil 5 drops Geranium Essential Oil 5 drops Arborvitae Essential Oil 1 Tbsp. Apple Cider Vinegar (with the mother) 1 drop Caster Oil (The bugs don’t like castor oil) Top off with Distilled Water Shake well before use. Spray all over your pet prior to going outside. Reapply as needed. DIY Tick Repellent & Lyme Prevention 4 People N Pets
Ingredients Glass spray bottle 4 oz FCO oil 60 drops of tick-repellent blend below Tick Repellent Blend: 15 D TerraShield 10 D Vetiver 10 D Clove Bud 5 D Oregano 10 D Ylang Ylang 10 D. citrus oil of your choice to balance scent (Lemon, Lime, Bergamot, Orange, Grapefruit) Instructions: Add your essential oil drops directly to your glass spray bottle. Fill the remaining 4oz spray bottle with FCO. Shake well. Spray periodically to ankles, arms and any other exposed skin to repel ticks. OUTDOOR PEST FREE SPRAY FOR PEOPLE N PETS!FLEA COLLAR
A standard dog collar-cotton or hemp 2 tbsp. Castor Oil 2 drops of flea repelling essential oils such as lemongrass, rosemary, peppermint, clove, and cedarwood Instructions: 1. Mix the oils together and apply them to the collar. 2. Allow to dry before placing on your pet. This collar will repel fleas throughout the warmer months. All you need to do is re-apply the oils once its effectiveness starts to wear off (when you cannot smell the oils as strongly anymore). PET POWDER FOR FLEAS & TICKS1 C. cornstarch
5 D. Lavender Essential Oil 5 D. Geranium Essential Oil 4 D. Eucalyptus Essential Oil Mix well. Store in a small mason jar with several holes in the top. Sprinkle a small amount on your dog and brush the dog. Your animal will smell great and it repels ticks and other pests. PET SHAMPOO
You can use the above recipe for a flea shampoo by adding any of the flea oils listed for the flea collar or flea powder recipes listed above.

PESKY PETS REPELLANTPesky Pests!
Mix these oils in a small spray bottle for an all-natural and effective bug repellant. Mix 10 drops each of Lemongrass, Lavender, Geranium, and Peppermint, fill the rest of the bottle with fractionated coconut oil. Use this when you’re out camping, doing yard work, or just plain sick of those pesky bugs and need a repellant. HOMEMADE BUG SPRAYTotal Time: 2 minutes

1/2 C. Castile Soap 1 tsp. Aloe Vera Gelly (not the gel) 5 D. Lavender Essential Oil You can use other essential oils for special needs. This recipe can also be diluted with water. (great for calming skin irritations) 3 oz. Castile soap (available at many health and bulk food stores) it is gentle and the baby Castile Soap doesn't have any other essential oils added so you control the quality of the oils and what oils are added. 2 oz. Organic unpasteurized, unfiltered apple cider vinegar 1 T. Aloe Vera Gelly 2 oz. Distilled water 3 drops Lavender Essential Oil 3 drops Roman Chamomile Essential Oil 3 drops Myrrh Essential Oil Optional ANTISEPETIC SHAMPOO
10 oz. Water 2 oz. Aloe Vera Juice 1Tbsp. of Castile soap 2 drops of Myrrh Essential Oil 2 drops of Lavender Essential Oil 2 drops of Melaleuca Essential Oil 2 drops Cleansing Essential Oil Blend Combine in a jar. Shake well. Lather and rinse well. Freshen the Cat Litter Box
with calming essential oils DOGGY DEODORANTWhat you’ll need:
Spray bottle 10 drops lavender essential oil 6 drops wild orange oil 6 drops peppermint essential oil 3 drops eucalyptus essential oil Instructions: 1. Mix all the ingredients into the spray bottle and shake well. 2. Cover the face and eyes of your dog and spray on their coat to get rid of their dog odor. This blend is especially useful on rainy days when the doggy smell is a lot more noticeable. You can diffuse your home with this blend also or sprayed with this blend to freshen up the house, and it has the added properties of sanitizing your rooms thanks to the eucalyptus and lavender oils. Looking after your pet doesn’t have to be hard. Essential oils are a great way to use a natural product to help your dog with minor ailments and problems. Not only will your dog thank you for it, you’ll also be thankful knowing you’re taking the best care for your furry friend. ESSENTIAL OILS FOR CLEANING THE HOMEALL PURPOSE CLEANER
Add 3 drops of lemon oil and Melaleuca oil with warm water and spray counter tops to disinfect, naturally. DRYER SHEETSCut cotton fabric in 10” squares. Soak in 1 cup of distilled white vinegar and 15 drops of lemon essential oil. Squeeze off excessive liquid and throw in the dryer.
ALL PURPOSE CLEANER1 teaspoon Borax
2 Tablespoons white vinegar 1-3/4 cups hot water ½ teaspoon liquid castile soap 10 drops Lavender essential oil 3 drops Tea Tree or Eucalyptus essential oil Combine and stir until dry ingredients dissolve. Pour into 16-ounce spray bottle. Shake before using. Spray on any surface except glass. Rinse with clean, damp cloth. SOFT SCRUB FOR BATH, TILE, AND TOILET - I LOVE THIS RECIPEMake in small batches and store in an airtight container. This is enough for two to four applications. This soft scrub is excellent for getting rid of soap scum, removing stains, and brightening your tile and toilet. To use, just apply and let it sit for 5-10 minutes and then scrub. Once done scrubbing, take a wet cloth and wipe clean.
What you need: 3/4 rounded cup baking soda 1/4 cup liquid castile soap 1 tablespoon water 1 tablespoon vinegar 5-10 drops Lemon essential oil Editor’s note: Liquid castile soap is a vegetable-based soap commonly found in health food stores. Dr. Bronner’s is a popular one. Look for unscented. This scrub is also great to use to help clean your kitchen sink, refrigerator, or tile floors. Directions: In a bowl, combine the baking soda and castile soap. Add the water and stir. Add the vinegar and essential oil. The consistency should be a soft paste. Store in an airtight container. What You Need:
16 oz. Spray Bottle 1 1/2 cup white vinegar 1/2 cup distilled water 8 drops of any citrus oil of your choice (could use Lemon, Lime, Grapefruit, Orange, or a combination) Directions: Add vinegar, water, and essential oil(s) to spray bottle and shake. You are ready to clean! WINDOW/MIRROR CLEANER 1/4 -1/2 teaspoon liquid castile soap 3 Tablespoons white vinegar 1-3/4 cups water 30 drops peppermint essential oil Pour into 16-ounce spray bottle, shake before using. Everyone uses liquid dish soap so why not make your own? This super simple recipe is great for removing grease, adding shine, and waking up your sense
What You Need: 2 cups unscented castile soap 20 drops Lime essential oil 8 drops Orange essential oil 6 drops other Citrus essential oils of your choice Directions: 1. Fill a large, clean bottle with castle soap; dilute according to instructions if using a concentrate. 2. Add essential oils. Shake bottle before each use. 3. You're done! DIY Relaxation RecipesWith just a few ingredients and your essential oils, make a soothing foot soak, sugar scrub, bath salts, and finally a refreshing grapefruit body spray.
Make customized bath salts that will help relax after a long day. Mix together 1/4 cup each of epsom salt, kosher salt, 1/8 cup of baking soda, and 20 drops of your favorite oil. Get a cute container and label for a great gift! Another use of your epsom salts is to make a Mother's Day Foot Soak. Mix together 2.5 cups of Epsom salt with the zest of 1 fresh lime and 4 drops each of lime and peppermint essential oil. Glass jars in our DIY container section are perfect for a cute container. Finish it all off with a refreshing Spring Sugar Scrub ! Simply mix together 1 C. brown sugar with 1/4 C. coconut oil. After that, add 8 drops of your favorite EO and put it in a jar with a label for a cute gift or for yourself. RECIPES FOR PEOPLETWO GREAT NATURAL SUNSCREEN RECIPES USING ESSENTIAL OILS FOR PEOPLE20 drops Lavender, 14 drops Helichrysum, 6 drops Myrrh essential oil (other good essential oils for sunscreen protection are: Sandalwood and Arborvitae)
1 T. pomegranate oil ¾ C. organic unrefined cold pressed coconut oil 2 T. Shea Butter (prefer Organic 2 T. Zinc Oxide (eliminate if concerned it will give a higher SPF sunburn protective) Glass jar to hold 1 cup. Directions: Combine all ingredients except essential oils and zinc oxide in a Pyrex glass measuring cup.

There has been a lot of concern over sun screen products with any zinc oxide or other sun blocks. This has an SPF 4 rating but I have used it effectively. Zinc Oxide will give it a higher SPF rating. Do apply regularly when out in the sun.

Sliced carrot, celery stalk, and peppermint leaves with 1 toothpick Cardamom essential oil water can sometimes be just that–plain and old. But, there’s an easy way to add flavor and interest to your water to make hydration more appetizing–infusing it with fruits, veggies, and essential oils. 4. DIY: NATURAL BODY WASHI use this and love it. I also make a dog shampoo with basically the same ingredients that I love because it leaves their hair feeling soft and is very easy to rinse out.

DIY: Heat Protectant SprayShield your strands with a heat protectant spray made with Clary Sage and Geranium essential oils. Easy to make, this DIY spray will have your hair feeling full and healthy.
Ingredients: 1 teaspoon Fractionated Coconut Oil 1 tablespoon sweet almond oil 2 teaspoons doTERRA Salon Essential Smoothing Conditioner 1 cup water 5 drops Clary Sage essential oil 5 drops Geranium essential oil Small spray bottle Pour half of water into spray bottle. 1. Add Fractionated Coconut Oil, sweet almond oil, conditioner, and essential oils into bottle. 2. Add remaining water and shake well.
